Wednesday Clicks

…….that is posted on a Thursday.

So I got carried away with work yesterday and totally forgot that it was Wednesday. After being carried away, I ended up being so excited over catching Transformers 2 that the movie ended so late and I just got back. Yesterday, I went for dinner with a bunch of crazy photographers (so crazy that they can even make balloon dolls for you) at Delicious at Midvalley. Me, being me, driving all the way from Cyberjaya, I ended up taking photos with my trusty iPhone instead. But today is not about EatFest, today it is about Clicks, and by clicks I mean my usual list of interesting links.

  • Check out this gallery of amazing photos that was taken with a camera phone! This further elaborate on my that it is the photographer behind the camera that makes the pictures (I said this during my workshop last Saturday).
  • With so much hype about the government wanting to keep a register of bloggers, some say that bloggers are killing journalist. I beg to differ and so does this article.
  • Want to know how much Twitter has grown? If you don’t know what is Twitter, just join Twitter.com and add me in @markleo82
  • Has the law finally caught up with Rapidshare?
  • Check out this huge debate on what went on at Matt’s Adobe Lightroom post. Very interesting and great arguments from both sides. The story originated from a guy who wrote a nifty little program that when you enter in a Flickr image, it will calculate out and create a Lightroom preset to achieve that effect. Some say it is stealing but some say that it isn’t because no one can copyright Adobe Lightroom settings. If that is the case, no one can use +10 Saturation, + 20 vivid and vignette.
  • Become a better photographer through the critique of others. What can I say, the title of that article says it all. Which was why I implemented what I have learned from Louis Pang‘s workshop and did a simple critique session for the workshop which I held recently as well.
  • Check out this interview with Landscape Photography Legend Art Wolfe at Digital Photography School. Here is the link to Part 1 and Part 2 of the interview.

A brief Wednesday Clicks this week but watch out for this space, I have a whole new blog revamp coming up soon and no, I didn’t do it myself. So it is going to look way awesome!

Wednesday Clicks

Shootfest came and shootfest finished in a blink of an eye for me but instead of dreaming of the past, I will strive to move forward. Forward with this week’s Wednesday Clicks, that is. I also realised that a post without pictures is definitely boring! So here is a image I took while I was away in NYC.

The park in the image above is the famous Central Park of Manhattan.

Here is a little reason why I chose Wednesday to have the Wednesday clicks, its because in the week, whenever you reach Wednesdays, its all downhill from here. Have a great week ahead!

Wednesday Clicks

I am back again with this week’s Wednesday Clicks, last week I decided to actually not post up due to the fact that it was April Fool’s day. Nevertheless, its back up again with loads of interesting links.

Have a great week ahead everyone, as they always say, Wednesday, its all downhill from here!

Whats on my iPhone

I recently learned how to actually take screenshots of my iPhone screen and thanks to that, I can actually post up a post which has been lingering in my mind lately but I just was too darn lazy to actually capture screenies on my phone using my camera!

Anyway before I proceed with the actual post, here is a short tutotial on how to take a screenshot of your iPhone screen. Just click on the two buttons simultaneously as shown on the screenshot below and if your phone is not set to vibrate only, you will hear a shutter click sound (fake shutter of course) and your screen temporarily turning white and fading off.

So thanks to this new trick which I learned (by the way, the image above is definitely not a screenshot!), I happily took some screenshots of my phone.

First one up is the main screen of my phone.

Pretty much everything is standard here except for one application on the bottom right of the screen. To be honest it is not an application but it’s actually a link to Google’s To-Do list which is integrated in Gmail. What it is, is that its an online to-do list. I have always been trying to have a fully integrated to-do list and this seems to be a useful tool which I am currently experimenting.

Next on my iPhone screen would be my list of applications.

The two most commonly used application I use would be Facebook as well as Twitterfon. Totally ignore that myMaxis link there as it is totally USELESS, why? Because it just brings you to their site where you can “subscribe” to more of their “services” only to pay them more money. It is a total WASTE of time.

I like Facebook because I can actually keep up to date with it on the go.

As well as allow me to take photos with my phone and then upload it directly! Here is a picture of a blurry keyboard I tried taking with my phone.

It totally got blurry when I tried to take a snapshop of me taking a shot.

The other application is Twitterfon. I have become a Twitter addict lately hence the obsessive need to read tweets as well as tweet wherever I am.

If you do have a Twitter account, do add me in here.

Now on to the 3rd page on my phone. As you can see below, its mainly my games page with the except of Skype which is a newly added application.

Previously before this, I never had a Skype account so the only person I have on my Skype list is Ian. Do let me know what your Skype accounts are and I will gladly add you in icon smile Whats on my iPhone

p.s. I am way too embarrassed to show my Skype list hahahaha

My favourite games would be Simcity and Bejeweled 2 followed by Hells Kitchen. I am already quite bored with the rest as well but I am still in love with Simcity, my city is still halfway built though but its generating enough cash on its own.

Last but not least, it’s my blog on Safari. I installed an iPhone plugin which automatically transform this blog into an iPhone friendly site. Check it out below.

And here is a shot of an individual post with an image in it.

Anyway, before signing off, I would like to ask the readers a simple question. What is on your iPhone as well? I would definitely love to find out what are some of the cool (and free!) applications about.

Some updates here and there

Ok, I gave up trying to figure out how to migrate WordPress Permalinks to a new structure and update all of my old previous posts. I managed to find a plugin by Dean but it doesn’t seem to work with WordPress 2.7. I am really trying to figure out how I can change the permalink structure of all my previous posts. If anyone has any idea, do let me know!

On another hand, I have finally gotten used to Twitter and started updating my statuses on Twitter as well as Facebook. Do add me as a friend on Facebook here as well as check out my Twitter statuses here. Its so fun to be able to see some of my friend’s statuses online as they go through their day.

Had an extremely tiring weekend, the whole of Saturday I was busy with a wedding shoot in church and at Mandarin Oriental with Louis. The shoot lasted from 4.30am (the time I woke up) till late at night and was my feet sore as well. On Sunday, I managed to head to church in the morning and then to Cyberview Lodge to check out the wedding fair there (for reasons kept a secret! hahahaha). After the fair, I headed over to Alamanda in Putrajaya with munZ and realised that the place was packed!

On a fun note, I attended a wedding last night as a guest (see how I would highlight that) and really enjoyed myself chatting with my colleagues and friends over a couple of glasses of wines. It was good to be able to sit down and enjoy the wedding but my voice is becoming rather rasp at the moment after last night’s countless “yam-seng” sessions. Needless to say that my colleagues manage to bring the groom down with their drinks.

Today was an exceptionally funny day for me as I managed to convince myself that I am totally absent minded. I drove all the way to the office today and totally left my work laptop at home. Had to spend some time checking out with the other teams here in the office to see if there are any additional machines I could borrow. Thank God for virtual storage of my work files. Else I wouldn’t have any access to my working documents.
